Dr. Milligan is a Professor of Pediatrics and Senior Scientist with the Sealy Center for Vaccine Development. He received both his B.S. and M.S. in Biology from Emporia State University in Emporia, Kansas and his PhD in Microbiology from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He completed his postdoctoral fellowship in viral immunology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri. He has over twenty years of experience in characterizing immune responses to virus infections in animal models.  The primary focus of his laboratory is to investigate the protective role of B and T lymphocytes against HSV infection of the genital tract, sensory ganglia, and central nervous systems.   His laboratory also studies how interactions between virus vaccines and the innate immune system shape the adaptive immune response.

Fingerprint Fingerprint is based on mining the text of the experts' scientific documents to create an index of weighted terms, which defines the key subjects of each individual researcher.
